A Performing Arts Academy for music and dance.
OneMaker Academy is part of the operations and ministry of Pacific Hills Christian School and is focused on the development of the performing arts locally and internationally. We are located at the front of Pacific Hills in a new multi-million dollar facility catering for industry leading educational and performance-based services. Our classes run in a beautiful tarkett sprung floor studios as well as a new state of the art performance stage, giving each student the ability to learn in a professional industry setting.
Dance Classes
OneMaker Academy offers Dance classes for students from Prep to Year 12. Our professional dance teachers are skilled in specific styles of dance and have all worked in the dance industry, ensuring every OMA class provides high quality education in the foundations and latest trends of each style!
We want dance to be as accessible as possible for families with different commitment levels, ensuring students can find the perfect fit. Because of this, we have two different dance pathways for students to choose from: Recreational Classes and Performance Troupes.
OMA Recreational Dance Classes
We provide high-energy dance classes each week for students to have fun with friends, grow in dance and exercise in a creative way. The different levels and styles offered will ensure that students find the right fit for them. We cater for students who are trying out dance for the first time and those who have been dancing for a while. Recreational classes work on the skills specific to each dance genre while learning fun stretches, style, technique and routines. Our recreational classes perform in the End of Year Concert. These classes are great for students who love to dance and participate in many other activities.
OMA Performance Troupes
Performance Troupe Classes are for those students who want to be more involved with dance and experience industry performance opportunities. Troupe classes perform in Eisteddfods and other opportunities through the year such as school assemblies, community performances, and the Troupe Showcase. Troupe students are highly encouraged to participate in specific genres like Ballet, Tumbling and Hip Hop to increase their ability, vocabulary of choreography and standard for performance repertoire. It is expected that Troupe students take their development seriously and are participating in 2 Recreational classes as a minimum per week including Jazz.
OMA Company
Company classes are audition based and train dancers for a future career in the industry. Company consists of contemporary and Jazz/Funk Troupes as well as small groups and solos, duets and trios. These students are expected to have a high level of commitment and who train in multiple disciplines of dance during the week. Company dancers are given prestigious performance oppoortunities.
Private Lessons
OMA offers individual and paired lessons for students who would like to enter eisteddfods as a soloist, duet or trio and/ or desire to grow their technique under the mentorship of professional OMA Teachers.
Dance Mentors
Participating in dance under teachers who understand they are dance mentors, can foster the most beneficial progress in a young student’s journey. This is extremely important to our OMA team, which is why we refer to our Dance Teachers as ‘Dance Mentors’. The OMA Dance Program invites students to succeed in a safe and encouraging atmosphere, build a healthy self-image through appropriate attire, powerful choreography and a highly talented mentor team.
